Enfield Town welcome our friends from Lowestfoft Town tomorrow in the next of the pre-season friendlies. The Ryman Division One (North) Champions have caused quite a stir on the betting websites with reports suggesting some big wagers have been had on the Crown Meadow outfit when they opened at as high as 16/1 with some bookmakers. They have been backed into currently 6/1 second favourites for the title in the Premier Division with skybet.com. We all know how good the Suffolk team were last season so tomorrow's game will probably be Town's toughest test this pre-season.
They have strengthened their squad with the signing right sided defender Andrew Cave-Brown who was released by Leyton Orient at the end of last season, another prolific striker to add to their already quality forward line as Lee McGlone joins from Leiston with left sided defender Curtis Haynes-Brown joining from AFC Sudbury. McGlone hit the back of the net 21 times in 31 appearances in the Eastern Counties Premier Division last season
Their pre-season results so far have been good -
10th July - LEISTON WON 2-1
14th July - Great Yarmouth Town WON 2-1
17th July - BRAINTREE TOWN WON 1-0
21st July - COLCHESTER UNITED DREW 0-0
24th July - CAMBRIDGE UNITED WON 2-1
31st July - Biggleswade Town WON 2-0
The Trawlerboys face Ryman Division One (North) AFC Sudbury next Saturday before facing Carshalton Athletic on the first day of the Premier Division season on the 21st August.
