Waltham Abbey make the short trip to Goldsdown Road to face Town for the start of the Ryman League season tomorrow.
Following Glen Alzapiedi's resignation in May the then first team coach Paul Wickenden was promoted into the hot seat at Cappershots. He has rebuilt the Abbots side over the summer with a raft of new faces joining up for the new Ryman Division One season.
Town's near neighbours have had a mixed bag of results in pre-season with two wins, three defeats and a draw. Amongst their squad this season is Andy Keepence (ex of Hertford Town, Ware, Wealdstone and Cheshunt amongst other -he is also on the coaching staff), Midfielder Tom Laxton (ex of Redbridge and Ilford), defender Jack Luck (signed from Dag and Red academy), speedy forward Emmanuel Osei (who scored a few for Harlow Town last season) and forward Marshall Smith (formerly of Ware).
The cold end recommends you come along and support Town on the start of their quest for glory in 2010/11.

There are lots of interesting fixtures to start the season off with. The stand out games for the cold end are Grays Athletic making their debut against a new look Harlow Town side which will attract a larger than average crowd at Rookery Hill along with Thamesmead Town making the long journey from South of the River into Suffolk to play league new boys Needham Market who will be eager to make a good start to their campaign.
The Stags of Waltham Forest face the first of two East London Derby games when they play landlords Ilford at Cricklefields (they travel the short distance to play Leyton on Tuesday night). Romford, some people's tips as an outside bet for the play offs will want to kick off with a victory at home against Cheshunt.
There will be a surprise result...the question is where will it come????
The two promoted sides from last season face tough tests in their first matches at Premier Division level. Concord Rangers are at home to 9/2 league favourites Sutton United with Lowestoft Town away at Carshalton Athletic. Rangers who we all know are a strong side at Thames Road are 7/4 with skybet.com to win the game (Sutton are 11/10 and the draw 13/5). The Trawlerboys are 5/4 to record a win on their debut at the higher level (Carshalton are 6/4 with the draw being 13/5)
The cold end hopes the season begins with lots of good football on display. Enjoy the game wherever you are going.
