Congratulations to Spartan South Midlands League Division One Sport London E Benfica who beat Cranfield United 5-1 yesterday at Coles Park, Haringey. The cold end is big fan of the SLEB team and was very pleased upon hearing this result. Well done to Jose Viana and his team!!!!!
The significance of the result is that it was the first home league game played by S.L.E.B since Wednesday 23rd September 2009. Problems with the drainage on one section of the pitch along with the cold snap and large amounts of rain have caused numerous postponements with landlord's Haringey Borough who haven't played at home since the 24th October 2009.
The ground staff at Coles Park (12 games before the end of March) and squad's of Sport London (9 games before the end of March) and Haringey Borough (9) will be very busy in the next few weeks as there is a feast of football on offer with the following fixtures scheduled:
