LOCAL DERBY ACTION AS WALTHAM ABBEY COME TO TOWN

Waltham Abbey visit Goldsdown Road on Tuesday night in a Ryman League Cup match in what will be a keenly contested local derby. Ryman Premier Abbey will certainly want to get their own back on Town after our FA Cup victory earlier in the season. Historically the Ryman League Cup hasn't been a good competition for the Town with our record as follows:

P 3 W 0 D 0 L 3 GF 4 GA 12

In 06/07 we lost to Boreham Wood, O7/08 Arlesey Town and last season against Billericay Town. Even in 05/06 when we were in the Southern League we lost at home to Wivenhoe Town on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

Last season The Abbey won at Boreham Wood 3-2 and then lost 2-3 at home to Billericay Town who had beaten us in the previous round.

The cold end had heard that a few of the squad players will get a run out in this match with Dennis Maharajan in line for a debut in the first team. Lets hope we put an end to the loosing run and put one over on our near-neighbours to set up a nice little run in this competition for a change.

UP THE TOWN!!
