Spare a thought for....

Sporting Bengal United of the Bulmers Kent League who finished last season on a points total of zero having been beaten in 32 of their 32 league games shipping 160 goals and scoring just 26.

The Bengal Tigers who play at The Mile End Stadium (the only Kent League club to play outside of Kent north of the River Thames) are a unique club selecting their players from the Bangladeshi FA (UK) affiliated BFA Sunday clubs in the local area.

Since joining the Kent League they have finished (out of 17) - 17, 14, 15, 17, 17 and 17...winning only 18 games out of 188 in total.

With London APSA they were the first Asian clubs to compete in the FA Cup in 2005.

They kick off their league season on 8th August 2009 with an away match at Tunbridge Wells (who finished 10th of 17 last year with 45 points and 13 wins).

In the FA Cup the club face an away trip to Bedfordshire to play Wooton Blue Cross on 15th August and they face another away trip on the FA Vase travelling to Hertfordshire to play Colney Heath on 5th September.

The Mile End Stadium is now also used by newly promoted Bethnal Green United in the Essex Senior League.

T.C.E thinks Sporting should consider a transfer across to this league they will face some local derby matches against United, Clapton, Barking, Barkingside and London APSA.

The Cold End wishes them luck for the season and will be keeping a close eye out for their first win of the season.
