The race for The Pitching In Isthmian North title has very much of a Suffolk feel to it with Lowestoft Town and Felixstowe & Walton United in first and second place closely followed by Bury Town.

Lowestoft Town's title hopes have been dealt a blow in their last two games with 2-1 defeats at Ipswich Wanders and Heybridge Swifts.

The Seasiders and The Blues are the form sides of the division - they both have nine wins and a draw from their last ten games.

Bury Town are on an unbeaten run of fifteen league games which included a 4-1 win over Lowestoft Town on Saturday 23rd December. Felixstowe & Walton are ten games unbeaten and were last beaten at Bowers & Pitsea at the end of December.

Saturday 23rd March followed by Easter weekend will have a big say on which team will eventually finish top as Felixstowe & Walton Utd travel to Lowestoft Town and Bury Town followed by Lowestoft Town v Bury Town on Easter Bank Holiday Monday.

Essex could also have a say as Brentwood Town are fourth and also in good form with just one defeat (1-0 at Lowestoft Town) in their last ten games of which eight they have won.

CURRENT TABLE - 5th to 10th place only

5.  BOWERS & PITSEA  26 15 4 7 49 37 +12 49 DWWDLW 85
6.  HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS  26 13 5 8 42 35 +7 44 LLWLLW 80

10.  BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT  25 10 2 13 43 45 -2 32 LLLLDL 71

In the race for the play-offs it's any team down to Walthamstow in ninth place in with a chance I think as there is a ten point gap down to to Brightlingsea Regent in tenth place who haven't won in nine games! Their last win came against bottom of the table Stowmarket Town on Saturday 23rd December.

Heybridge Swifts, Basildon United and Maldon & Tiptree have also dropped points of late - All three have lost four of their last six games.

SOME OTHER FACTS AND STATS ABOUT THE SEASON SO FAR

ENFIELD FC have only scored four goals in their last six games. Adam Vyse and Frankie Franz netted in the 2-2 draw against Stowmarket Town. Callum Taylor netted in their 1-0 win at Wroxham and Jack Leech got one goal in their 1-2 defeat at home to Felixstowe & Walton Utd.

STOWMARKET TOWN are still without a league win all season in their 25 games played. They have drawn 5 and lost 20.

Ewan Gordon-Clement, 17, who is currently on loan with STOWMARKET TOWN from League Two side Colchester United has been in impressive goal scoring form. He has scored one goal in each of their last six games.

REDBRIDGE along with Stowmarket Town are the only club left without a victory on their travels - The Motormen have drawn 4 and lost 7 of their 11 games.

BURY TOWN have scored 22 goals in their last 6 games which equates to 3.67 per game which is an increase from 2.35 per game over their first 20 games.

Of the current top four - Lowestoft Town last played at Step Three in 21/22, Bury Town in 14/15 and Brentwood Town in 15/16. Felixstowe & Walton United along with Felixstowe & Port Town, Felixstowe Town, Felixstowe FC and Walton United have never played at Step Three.
