Real Bedford went five points clear of the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division with a 3-1 home win over Potton United on Tuesday evening. It was impressively their tenth league win in a row.

They are closely followed by Milton Keynes Irish who are unbeaten in fifteen league games - their only league defeat so far was 1-0 away at Real Bedford on the opening day of the season.

Real Bedford's only defeat came at home to St Panteleimon who won 1-4 at McMullen Park on Saturday 16th September.

Leverstock Green, under the management of Fergus Moore, are having a brilliant season and are currently in third place of the table.

FC Romania and Biggleswade United have dropped down the table in recent weeks. FCR lost 3-2 at Leverstock Green on Saturday and then yesterday evening lost 1-7 at home to Aylesbury Vale Dynamos in one of the surprise results of the season so far.

United have lost four of their last six league games and also were knocked out of the Gladwish Challenge Trophy at Division Two side Sarratt last weekend who recorded a memorable 1-0 victory.

They did knock Real Bedford out of the Isuzu FA Vase in the last round and welcome Midland Football League Premier Division side Whitchurch Alport for a much anticipated Third Round tie on Saturday.

London Lions are also in Vase action welcoming Step Six side Stanway Pegasus to Rowley Lane at the weekend.

GOOD LUCK TO BOTH SIDES - LET'S HOPE BOTH ARE IN THE HAT FOR THE FOURTH ROUND DRAW ON MONDAY AFTERNOON.

Harpenden Town (7th) v Real Bedford is probably the league game of the day on Saturday. Town have an average crowd of 189 for league games so far this season - there is bound to be a decent attendance at the new look Rothamsted Park with it's state of the art artificial pitch for this game especially with the current frosty and freezing conditions locally likely to put some games on grass pitches in doubt.

Sawbridgeworth Town are cut adrift at the bottom of the table on four points with Arlesey Town and Stansted above them on twelve points. Sawbo are without a league win so far and travel to Baldock Town on Saturday who beat them 1-2 earlier in the season.
