ISUZU FA TROPHY SECOND ROUND GAMES TOMORROW

There are nine step four teams left in The Isuzu FA Trophy at the Second Round stage as follows -

CITY OF LIVERPOOL - 14th NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISION ONE WEST
CRAY VALLEY PM - 9th ISTHMIAN SOUTH-EAST DIVISION
FROME TOWN - 2nd SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
HARBOROUGH TOWN - 1st NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISION ONE MIDLANDS
HYTHE TOWN -10th ISTHMIAN SOUTH-EAST DIVISION
NANTWICH TOWN - 17th NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISION ONE WEST
REDBRIDGE -12th ISTHMIAN NORTH DIVISION
SOUTH PARK (REIGATE) - 8th ISTHMIAN SOUTH-CENTRAL DIVISION
WALSALL WOOD - 13th NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISON ONE MIDLANDS

City of Liverpool have equalled their best ever run in the competition as they got to the Second Round stage in 20/21 season losing to Darlington. FA Cup heroes Cray Valley PM first entered the Trophy in 2019 and have never got past the qualifying stages but have national non-league knock out experience having got to the 2019 FA Vase final where they lost to Chertsey Town - It will be interesting to see what crowd The Millers get for their home game against Hampton & Richmond Borough following the 1,550 that saw their FA Cup replay against Charlton Athletic.

Frome Town did technically reach the Third Round of the FA Trophy in the pandemic affected 20/21 season. They were awarded a walkover in the second round when Hampton & Richmond Borough withdrew after a staff member tested positive for covid. Frome Town then withdrew from the competition and didn't travel to their scheuled game at Maidstone United. It's happier times for The Robins this season as they welcome Worthing to Badgers Hill tomorrow.

Harborough Town only recently entered the Trophy following their promotion from Step Five in 2022 - they have beaten Lye Town, Hinckley LR, Biggleswade FC and Avro to get to this stage. Arguably it's The Bees, who were formed in 1975, biggest ever game in their history when they welcome Chelmsford City to Bowden Park.

Hythe Town have achieved their best ever run in the Trophy - they previously got to the First Round in the 16/17 season where they were well beaten 8-1 at Welling United. The Cannons welcome Tonbridge Angels to The Reachfields Stadium tomorrow who make the 50 mile journey down the M20 in Kent.

Nantwich Town were relegated to Step Four at the end of last season - they famously got to the Semi-Final stage in the 15/16 season where they lost to FC Halifax Town over two legs. They have won on kicks from the penalty mark over the last two games (v Bradford Park Avenue and Stratford Town) after beating Dunston and Liversedge to get to this stage this season. The Dabbers, currently in 17th place of the Northern Premier Division One (West), are currently the lowest ranked side left in the Trophy this season. A big crowd is expected for their home game against Vanarama North side Chester who make the short 20 mile trip across Cheshire. It's most definitely one of the games of the Second Round.

Redbridge are back in the Trophy this season after promotion from the Essex Senior League. The club's best run came in 03/04 and 04/05 when they got to the Third Round on both occasions. In 03/04 as 'Ford United' they were defeated by Marlow and in 04/05 which was their first season as Redbridge they lost against Cambridge City. It will be a great occasion for everyone connected to The Motormen tomorrow as they travel to Edgar Street to play Hereford FC who have an average crowd of 1,575 for their Vanarama North games this season.

Fans of South Park (Reigate) have good memories in the FA Trophy when back in the 16/17 season they beat Guernsey, Faversham Town, Hastings United, Oxford City and North Leigh which got them to the Second Round stage and a trip to Tranmere Rovers where 2,801 people saw the home side triumph 4-1.

Walsall Wood are in their first Trophy campaign having been promoted from Step Five last season. They did reach the FA Vase semi-final in 20/21 and the quarter final in 12/13 so clearly like knockout football.
