FORT WILLIAM MAKE A GOOD START TO THEIR SEASON

Fort William have made a great start to their North Caledonian League season with two wins being 4-0 at Bonar Bridge and 7-1 at "home" to Orkney which was played at Invergordon's Recreation Ground with a 2pm kick off to assist Orkney with travel and ferry times.

Manager Alan Gray and his Assistant Darren Duncan have now been in place since September 2022 and took the club to a third place finish last season behind Invergordon and Loch Ness. The club were relegated from the Highland League in 2022 after years making headlines as 'the worst football team in the UK' struggling towards the bottom of the division.

Scorers for The Fort so far this season have some connections South of the Border.

Ayman Bouzerai made 13 appearances for Cove in the Combined Counties League Division last season and has also played for Tadley Calleva.

Juan Cardona has played for Equinoccial in the Kent County League along with Grays Athletic Reserves, Ilford, Clapton FC and Woodford Town in the Essex Senior League prior to moving to Scotland.

They have their first official home game at Claggan Park this weekend when they host Golspie Sutherland in The Football Times Cup First Round. Then on Saturday 2nd September they host West of Scotland Premier Division club Clydebank in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Second Preliminary Round which will kick off at 7.30pm so the game doesn't clash with The Ben Nevis Race which takes place on the same day.
