VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE - THE SEASON SO FAR

Barnet are the early leaders in the Vanarama National League with three wins and a draw form their four games played so far. Soluihull Moors, Chesterfield and Notts County are the only other sides left unbeaten.

Gateshead, Altrincham, Yeovil Town and FC Halifax Town are the four sides left without a win.

The Bees fantastic start to the season will be tested to the full this Friday evening when they travel to Chesterfield who were 0-2 up at Notts County at the weekend but ended up drawing 2-2.

Special mention goes out to Wealdstone who many predicted would struggle this season. They have won three and lost just one of their four games played so far. The Stones recorded a memorable 1-2 victory at Oldham Athletic last mid-week in front of 6,869 people at Boundary Park. They only had two points after four games last season compared to nine this campaign. It is, of course, early days yet but it's been a superb start for the Middlesex side who make the long trip to Gateshead on Saturday.

The relegated sides from the football league have made in-different starts to their seasons. Oldham Athletic had the aforementioned defeat to Wealdstone as well as a 0-1 loss at Southend United and a 0-0 draw at Torquay United. They have one win which came at home to Dorking Wanderers 3-2.

The Iron were 3-0 up at home to Solihull Moors at the weekend after 36 minutes but conceded goals in the 41st, 44th, 82nd and 85th minutes to eventually lose the game 3-4. Their only win came at home to Yeovil Town on the opening day of the season - they have also lost on the road at Maidenhead United and Woking.

Their manager Keith Hill is reportedly to be in the running for a return to League Two side Rochdale where he has been boss in two previous spells. They recently parted company with Robbie Stockdale after they lost their first four league games. Nothing has been confirmed as yet though.

Wrexham, who were the pre-season (and still are!) favourites for the title, got back to winning ways on Saturday after a draw and a defeat on their travels following an opening day victory at home to Eastleigh. They won 5-0 at home to Maidstone  United in front of 9,863 people at The Racecourse Ground.

Torquay United have the lowest amount of goals scored overall in their games - they have drawn 0-0, won 1-0 and lost 0-1 twice.
