SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL AND PREMIER SOUTH OPENING DAY FIXTURES - SATURDAY 6th AUGUST

PREMIER CENTRAL

There are two promoted sides in the Premier Central. Bedford Town return to Step 4 for the first time since 2013/14 - they travel to Stratford Town in their first game. 

Ilkeston Town, champions of the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands, make the trip to Tamworth. 

Football in the Derbyshire town has had a very up and down time over the last decade. The original Ilkeston Town who were in the Conference North at the time folded in 2010. A new club - Ilkeston FC - were formed and joined the Northern Premier League Division One South for the 11/12 season. They were dissolved in 2017 with another new club - Ilkeston Town - being formed. 

FOOTBALL IN ILKESTON TIMELINE
2010 - Ilkeston Town, founded in 1945, are dissolved. They had finished 8th in the Conference North. 
2010 - Ilkeston FC formed and join the NPL Division One South. 
2017 - Ilkeston FC dissolved - they had finished 23rd in the NPL Premier of 16/17. 
2017 - A new Ilkeston Town are formed and join the Midland League Division One. They are promoted in 17/18, 18/19 and 21/22 to play in the Southern League Premier Central for the 22/23 campaign.

Hanwell Town v Truro City
Hartley Wintney v Swindon Supermarine
Hendon v Yate Town
Metropolitan Police v Hayes & Yeading United
Plymouth Parkway v Chesham United
Salisbury v Beaconsfield Town
Tiverton Town v Harrow Borough
Winchester City v Poole Town

There are five promoted sides in the Premier South. Bracknell Town, who ran away with the Isthmian South-Central Division, host Weston-Super-Mare who finished in 5th place and lost in the play-off semi-final to Hayes & Yeading United. 

North Leigh, promoted via the Southern League Division One Central division play-offs after finishing in 6th place, travel to Dorchester Town. 

Hanwell Town, play off winners in the Isthmian South-Central Division, host Truro City in a really exciting game for their fans. 

Plymouth Parkway and Winchester City - promoted from the Southern League Division One South - are both at home against Chesham United and Poole Town.
