The Essex Senior League has announced it's opening day fixtures with the pick of the games coming at Roding Lane and Mayesbrook Park.
Newly promoted Buckhurst Hill host Romford who are back at Step Five for the first time since the 2008/09 season.
Barking who were relegated with Romford host Halstead Town who are back at Step Five they left in the 2006/2007 season when they played in the Eastern Counties Premier. Barking are back in the Essex Senior League after a five season stay in the Isthmian League.
Saffron Walden Town, who are one of the favourites for the title, start with a home game against Clapton. The Bloods were runner's up last year and lost to Witham Town in the inter-step play-offs.
They have signed centre-forward Soloman Ofori who has been so impressive for Hadley over the past three season and I think will be well up the top scorers list in the league come the business end of the season.
