SCOTTISH LOWLAND LEAGUE OPENING WEEKEND FIXTURES

The Scottish Lowland League kicks off in just a few weeks time on Saturday 23rd July. For the 22/23 campaign there are three new teams with Cowdenbeath coming down from the SPFL League Two and Tranent Juniors moving up from the East Of Scotland where they won the title last season.

Celtic and Rangers 'B' sides will continue in the league after joining last season - They are joined by Heart of Midlothian 'B' who were voted in with the two other 'B' teams after a vote held by the sixteen other member clubs.

Rangers and Celtic finished in 2nd and 3rd positions last season behind Champions Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic.

Tranent Juniors kick off with a home game against East Kilbride who finished in 4th place last season with The Blue Brazil travelling to Celtic 'B' who play at Airdrieonian's ground. Rangers will play at Dumbarton and Hearts at Whitehill Welfare.

One team making some headlines are Broomhill FC who will be known OPEN GOAL BROOMHILL after a partnership with football media company Open Goal was announced. The team will be managed by former Celtic, Swindon Town, Portsmouth, Dundee United and Peterhead player Simon Ferry with club related content across Open Goal's platforms which will include a month fly-on-the-way documentary.

Also joining the club as player-coach is Paul Slane who worked with him on the podcast. The 30 year old midfielder last played in the 15/16 season for Clyde.
