CARSHALTON ATHLETIC TO HARINGEY BOROUGH - NEW SIGNINGS FOR THE ISTHMIAN PREMIER TEAMS PART TWO

CARSHALTON ATHLETIC
It's a new era for The Robins as former Tonbridge Angel's boss Steve McKim looks to get the club challenging towards the top of the table.

Full Back Bobby Price who made over 300 appearances for the club has departed along with forward Lewis White who was one of the stand out players in the Isthmian Premier last season - He has joined National South side Worthing.

Full Back Crossley Lema, 23, has signed from Margate whom he joined from Leatherhead last October. He came through the academy ranks at Sutton United where he started his career.

Centre Back Daryl Harrison has signed from Chertsey Town where he made 47 appearances last season.

Former Met Police and Farnborough goalkeeper Liam Beach has also joined the squad at Colston Avenue.

A stand out signing for me is Midfielder Gus Sow, 27, who has moved from Kingstonian where he had been since 2019. He came through the academy ranks at Crystal Palace signing a three year professional contract with The Eagles in 2012. After loan spells with Finnish side FC Honka and Farnborough he was unable to break through to the first team at Selhurst Park and joined St Albans City in 2015. He has also played for Dulwich Hamlet, Lewes and Merstham. He scored 14 goals in 48 appearances for The K's last season.

CORINTHIAN-CASUALS
The Casuals are another club under new management after the departure of James Bracken. Tony Reid is the new man in the dug-out who was in charge of Westfield from April 2016 to April 2020 taking them up from the Combined Counties Premier Division to the Isthmian League. He has also managed Eastbourne Town and Walton & Hersham.

There is no news on any new players as yet for the historic club.

CRAY WANDERERS
The best news for The Wands is them keeping hold of Manager Neil Smith who joined them in March with the club eventually finishing fourth bottom in the table and staying at Step Three. Smith had been in charge of Vanarama National League side Bromley from 2016 to 2021.

This is the first time in Cray's long history they have had a full time Manager in place.

Club Captain Anthony Cook has been retained for the 22/23 season. He scored 13 goals in 46 league games last season.

Midfielder Billy Crook has signed from Aveley where he was part of the Isthmian North's side Championship winning side after joining from Tilbury in December. He has also played for Dartford and Braintree Town in the National South and Enfield Town in the Isthmian Premier.

Defender Harold Joseph has signed from Enfield Town where he been a very popular player during two spells with the North London club. He has also played for Barnet, Stevenage, Hayes & Yeading United, St Albans City, Royston Town and Welling United.

ENFIELD TOWN
The Towners traditionally keep their cards close to the their chests in pre-season and haven't announced any new signings yet.

Defender's Harold Joseph (as above) and Jerry Gyebi have departed along with Midfielder Emmanuel Maja.

FOLKESTONE INVICTA
Neil Cugley starts his 26th consecutive season in charge at Cheriton Road - Invicta looked like they would get a play-off place last season but five defeats in their last ten league games saw them miss out finally finishing in sixth place four points below Cheshunt.

Cugley has made some decent signings to his already impressive squad.

Experienced Left Back Nathan Green has joined from South-East Division side Cray Valley. He began his career with Croydon Athletic winning the Isthmian Division One South title in 09/10 and then moving to Lewes who were then in the Conference South. He moved onto Bromley and Billericay Town where he was a member of their Isthmian Premier title winning squad in the 11/12 season. He also played for Kingstonian and Tonbridge Angels before joining Dagenham and Redbridge in 2014 who were then a League Two side.

He was only able to make eight appearances for The Daggers before joining Dartford and then moving on to Margate for the 15/16 season and Dulwich Hamlet from 2016 to 2019. He then played for Welling United for two seasons before joining Cray Valley last summer.

Defender Ian Gayle,  29, was a team mate of Nathan Green at Cray Valley last season - He was with the club on a dual-registration basis together with Vanarama South side Eastbourne Borough. He came through the academy ranks at Dagenham & Redbridge where he was from 2011 to 2016 spending time on loan with a host of non-league clubs - St Neots Town, Grays Athletic, Kingstonian, Histon, Whitehawk, St Albans City, Bishop's Stortford and Welling United. In the 2016/17 season he signed for Braintree Town who were then a Vanarama National League side - He has also played for Welling United. Wealdstone and Woking.

Winger Kadell Daniel, 28, has signed from Hayes & Yeading whom he joined last summer. Born in Lambeth he played for both Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic before dropping down into the non-league game with Woking. He has since played for Dulwich Hamlet, Leatherhead, Dover Athletic, Margate, Kingstonian and Hampton & Richmond Borough. He has 13 full International caps and 3 goals for Guyana.

Goalkeeper Bailey Vose joins from Cray Wanderers - He also spent some time with Billericay Town last season. He has also played for Margate, Colchester United, Dartford and came through the academy ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion.

James Rogers has joined from Hythe Town. The former Dartford, Dover Athletic and Maidstone United played is a hugely experienced 37 year old midfielder. He was player/manager at Hythe Town from November to the end of the season last season.

Players leaving Invicta are Ryan Johnson, Kieron McCann and Luke Wanadio. Alfie Paxman, who joined the club from Ramsgate in May 2018, has joined Vanarama South side Dover Athletic along with Wanadio who joined Invicta last summer from Dartford.

HARINGEY BOROUGH
Borough boss Tom Loizou has added former Leatherhead and Clapton FC Manager Mustafa Bashkal to his coaching team at Coles Park. Loizou's side scored 57 goals in their 42 league games last season - His two signings so far shows he is looking to hit the back of the net much more for this forthcoming season.

Winger Johnny Ashman has joined from East Thurrock United. He scored 10 goals for The Rocks last season and played for Barking previous to the 21/22 season. He also counts Clapton, Aveley, Witham Town and Cheshunt as former clubs.

Forward Anthony Mendy has joined from Isthmian South-Central side Uxbridge where he scored 25 goals in 38 games last season. He has played for a number of clubs including Beaconsfield Town, Slough Town and Chalfont St Peter to name a few.

Many of last season's squad have committed to playing for Borough this season including Callum Ismail, Michael O'Donoghue, Adronicos Georgiou, Rakim Richards, Bobson Bawling, Jorge Sambu, Andre Odeku, Charne Lemba, Stefanos Georgiou, Sam Owusu, Scott Mitchell and Georgios Aresti.
