EDGWARE & KINGSBURY FOOTBALL CLUB

Edgware Town have announced that they will be re-named Edgware & Kingsbury FC from the forthcoming 22/23 season.

The Wares were re-formed in 2014 after the club had to stop playing due to the loss of their historic White Lion Ground in 2008 which like many lost grounds in the London area is now a residential development.

They have played at Silver Jubilee Park since re-formation which is located a short distance away from Edgware in Kingsbury. The ground in the former home of Isthmian League side Kingsbury Town who merged with London Tigers to form Kingsbury London Tigers in 2006 who later became London Tigers from 2012 when the club moved to Avenue Park in Greenford.

As stated the re-naming of the club 'will help us to incorporate, welcome and serve the people of the area we now play in'.

The club finished in 8th position of the Combined Counties League Premier Division North last season with their last game as Edgware Town a 4-2 away defeat at Tadley Calleva on Saturday 23rd April.

The move hasn't pleased some Edgware fans on social media but I look at is as bringing the name of Kingsbury back into senior football a positive one which may help the future development and future of the club.
