Aveley are currently top of The Pitching-In Isthmian League North Division but only by goal difference to Stowmarket Town and just one point above Canvey Island. Dereham Town have dropped away from the race for the title losing four of their last six games - they are only seven points away from the top but were only three back in December.
In-Form Brentwood Town have moved up into the play-off zone - Since Rod Stringer took over as Manager in October The Blues have won ten, drawn one and lost one of their twelve league games played. They were 0-3 up in the draw (v Barking) but a fight back by the home side at Mayesbrook Park made it two points dropped and not one gained for Brentwood.
POINTS PER GAME FOR TOP SIX SINCE ROD STRINGER TOOK OVER AS MANAGER OF BRENTWOOD TOWN
FORTHCOMING KEY FIXTURES
Saturday 22nd January
AVELEY v BRENTWOOD TOWN
DEREHAM TOWN v AFC SUDBURY
This coming Saturday they'll be a big crowd over at Parkside as Aveley host Brentwood Town - The Blues are 12 points off of the current league leaders and have four games in hand over them so there is a real chance they could gate-crash the title party especially if they win this one.
Both Dereham Town and AFC Sudbury, who have dropped down to seventh, will want to pick up three points in their game.
Saturday 29th January
AFC SUDBURY v STOWMARKET TOWN
BRENTWOOD TOWN v CANVEY ISLAND
Another huge game for The Blues as they host Canvey Island - If they collect six points from their next two games they'll be firmly in the title race!
As always many thanks to the brilliant footballwebpages.co.uk for the league tables.
