SOME NON LEAGUE NUMBERS & STATISTICS FOR THE SEASON SO FAR

0 - Chesterfield (played 3), Boreham Wood (3) and Grimsby Town (1) are the only sides left in non-league's top division not to have conceded a goal yet.

No Points - Eastleigh (played 2), Dover Athletic (2) and Aldershot Town (3) are the teams in the Vanarama National Division yet to pick up a point. The Spitfires and The Whites are yet to score a goal.

8 - Barnet (played 3) and Torquay United (3) have the worst defensive record conceding 8 goals already.

6,934 - the top crowd so far in the Vanarama National League attended the Notts County v Torquay United game on Saturday 28th August. There have been six other games with 5000+ attendances - 6,452 (Stockport County v Grimsby Town), 5,265 (Stockport County v Dagenham & Redbridge), 5,356 (Chesterfield v Wealdstone), 5,034 (Grimsby Town v Weymouth), 5,678 (Southend United v Stockport County) and 5,454 (Wrexham v Notts County). I think it's likely the league's 11,085 record attendance who saw Bristol Rovers v Alfreton Town in April 2015 may be beaten this season with the capacity at Notts Couty's Meadow Lane currently 19,588

THE COASTERS ARE 2/1 FAVOURITES FOR THE VANARAMA NORTH TITLE

100% - AFC Fylde and Brackley Town are the only sides left with 100% winning records in the Vanarama North Division.

11 - AFC Fylde have scored 11 goals in their four games played - Former Salford City and Fleetwood Town player Nick Haughton has scored 5 times for Jim Bentley's side. Stephen Dobbie (signed from Queen Of The South over the summer) has scored twice.

16 - It's looking like it's going to be a difficult season for Hemel Hempstead Town in the Vanarama South as they have lost all of the four games they have played so far and conceded 16 goals in the process - An average of 4 per game  - They travel to Concord Rangers on Saturday.

SAM FISHBURN - A NAME TO LOOK OUT FOR

7 - Sam Fishburn has scored seven goals for Lancaster City in their six Northern Premier League games played so far. The 17 year old looks to have a great future in the game as he currently on loan from League Two side Carlisle United with The Dolly Blues.

South Shields were 12 points ahead of FC United when the Northern Premier League Premier Division was curtailed in the 2019/20 season. Over the two shortened seasons The Mariners had a record of 25 wins from 42 games played and a points per game average of 2 per game. Farsley Celtic had a PPG of 2.25 per game when they were champions in 2018/19.

1,926 - The Mariners have a fine average crowd for step three of the non-league ladder with crowds of 1,709 (v Grantham Town), 1,706 (Mikleover) and 2,362 (v FC United of Manchester) so far. League Two sides Salford City (1,836) and Harrogate Town (1,763) have lower averages with Accrington Stanley's average of 2,150 very close in League One. I expect to see the side managed by Graham Fenton in non-league's top division within the next three seasons!

Thornaby FC currently lead the Northern League Division One having been promoted from Division Two at the end of the 2018/19 season where they had played since the 2006/07 campaign. They are closely followed by North Shields and Consett

The crowd of 578 which saw the Friday night game between West Auckland Town and Crook Town in the top crowd across the two divisions so far.

Ongar Town, who were promoted from Division One, have made an excellent start to their Essex Olympian Premier Division season winning all three games scoring ten goals and letting in only one. Frankie Goodhall has scored four of their goals. Could they be playing at Step Six in the 2022/23 campaign? Aaron Blair, 21, moved to Dagenham & Redbridge over the summer and was on the bench in their opening day victory at Stockport County.
