After eleven games played Shakhtyor Soligorsk are huge favourites to be crowned champions of Belarus for the second season in a row - they have a 100% winning record and are seven points ahead of their nearest challenger's BATE Borisov

FC Gomel, promoted as runner's up of the first league last season, are the real surprise team of the season currently place in third place. Many people thought they'd do well this season but I don't think anyone thought they'd be in the top three after just under 35% of the season played.

Many fans predicted that Dynamo Minsk were going to be title challengers but their campaign has faltered and they have parted company with manager Leonid Kuchuk.

At the bottom of the table it's already looking like it's going to be a very long campaign for both Sputnik Rechitsa and Smorgon who were promoted from the second tier last season.

Sputnik have played home games in Gomel which is around 50 kilometres from their home ground.  Head-coach Vyacheslav Levchuk has left and have just one win in their opening eleven games.
