The Essex Senior League will return to playing football with the Len Cordell Cup and the Len Cordell Trophy taking place across April in memory of the highly respected and loved Len Cordell who sadly passed away in February. He was the match secretary at Redbridge FC for fifteen years having started playing and being involved in local football way back in 1945. He was a key figure in the local game over the years holding positions with The Barking Youth Football League - which he helped form , the Essex FA, Basildon United and London APSA.
He will be remembered by all who knew him as a gentleman and a friend who did so many good things in respect of local football clubs and clearly, like we all do, loved the grass roots and non-league game immensely.

All games have been given a default kick off as 3pm on Saturday but some games may well be moved to Friday evening kick offs. At present the government advice is "No spectators are allowed at grassroots football as part of step one of the roadmap, unless for safeguarding purposes which should be limited to one parent or carer per child" so no fans can currently attend the games but the Essex Senior League is league is looking towards live streaming matches on a Pay Per View basis to help generate funds for clubs to help offset the associated costs of playing matches.
They are also seeking sponsors for the Len Cordell Cup and Trophy - Please contact the league if you are interested.
