Pogon Szczecin are currently top of the table on a run of five league wins in a row - their opponents Piast Gilwice beat them in the Polish Cup last weekend and are currently eighth in the table.

The Jagiellonia v Legia Wasaw game on Sunday afternoon will have some interest from Belarus upon it as Nigerian defender Godfrey Stephen has recently moved to the home side - He played for Isloch last season in the Belarusian Premier League. Uzbekistan International striker Jasurbek Yakhshiboev who played for Energertyk and Shakhytor Soligorsk is expected to sign for Legia Warsaw so may well also be involved.

There is an important game at the bottom of the table as Podeskidzie travel to Cracovia on Saturday.

At present (I stand to be corrected) there is only one English player plying his trade in Poland which is former Wingate & Finchley, Oxford City, Bedfont Sports and Banbury United midfielder Carl Stewart. He came through the academy ranks at Watford and is currently playing for Zaglebie Sosnowiec who are second bottom of the I Liga (second tier) - their next league game is at the end of February.
