FC VOLNA PINSK RETURN TO TRAINING IN PREPARATION FOR THE 2021 SEASON

FC VOLNA PINSK who finished 9th in the Belarusian First League last season have returned to training in preparation for the 2021 season. The club have always played in the either the first or second league in Belarus since the leagues began in 1992. They closest they have come to promotion to the top tier was a third place finish in the First League in 93/94, 94/95 and 1998. They did reach the Quarter-Finals of the Belarusian Cup in 92/93 as well where they beat Premier League side Torpedo Minsk  as well as Kolos Ustye and Derevoobrabotchik Mosty before losing to Vedrich Rechitsa. 

Since promotion from the Second League in 2016 they have finished 7th, 13th, 12th and the aforementioned 9th place last season. 

Volna had their first pre-season friendly yesterday beating Shakhtyor Petrikov 1-0 with the goal scoring being 19 year old Denis Kovalevich. 

New signing Vitaly Rushnitsky played in the game who has moved from City rival's Stenles Pinsk over the winter break. The 31 year old striker has had two previous spells with the club in 2015 to 2016 and 2017 - He scored 21 goals for Stenles in the Second League last season.

The City of Pinsk is located in the Brest Region of Belarus at the confluence of the Pina River and Pripyat River - It's population is around 138,000 people. It's around a 40 minute drive from the border with the Ukraine.
