Under the new regulations the following rules stated below are now in place. Exisiting contracts are not affected -
1) Fifteen Thousand Belarusian rubles excluding bonuses is the salary ceiling of a player in the Belarusian championship which equates to £4300 at today's exchange rate.
Only the footballers of the Belarusian national team are permitted to received this sum. They must of played in at least 50% of International matches in the last two years and three foreign International players or 'leigionnaires'.
2) The maximum monthly sun for each team's squad should not excess 150,000 Belarusian rubles with is around £43,000,
3) The salary for a head coach should not exceed 8,000 rubles or £2,295. Assistant coaches are limited to 4,000 rubles or £1,146. These figures are excluding bonuses.
4) The following limits are set for bonuses for football players and representatives of the coaching and administration staff-
Winning a championship match - 30,000 rubles or £8,600.
Winning a cup game - 20,000 rubles or £5.730.
Winning a game in European Competition - 60,000 rubles or £17,200.
Also decided was the date for the Belarusian Super Cup which will take place on Tuesday 2nd March where 2019/20 Cup winner's BATE Borisov and League Champion's Shakhtyor Soligorsk will face off at the FC Minsk stadium. The game will be played at the Capital ABFF Arena if there is bad weather.
The following weekend of the Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th March will see the Belarusian Cup Quarter-Finals take place with the opening round of Premier League fixtures being played the weekend afterwards on the 13th/14th March.
It doesn't seem like a year ago that many interest in the Belarusian game came about when Energetik-BGU famously beat BATE Borisov on the opening day of the 2020 season on Thursday 19th March - WHAT A YEAR WE'VE ALL HAD SINCE THEN!
