LEAGUE TWO - SOME FACTS AND NUMBERS FOR THE SEASON SO FAR

21 - The current table topper's Newport County and bottom of the table Stevenage have conceded the same amount of goals. The Welsh side have a slightly better goals per game ratio having played 20 games (1.05) compared to The Boro's total of 1.17 as they have only played 18 games.

Draw Specialists - Mansfield Town have drawn 11 of their 20 games played so far. At home they haven't won yet drawing 6 and losing 4. They have drawn 3 of their last 6 games.

40 - Exeter City are top scorers in the division having scored 20 in their last 6 games.

0 - Stevenage are the only side without an away win so far. Their last win on their travels came at local rival's Cambridge United (0-4) on Saturday 18th January 2020.

6 - Since the season began on Saturday 12th September there have been six managers who have lost their jobs. In October Salford City replaced Graham Alexander with Richie Welens, Mansfield Town now have Nigel Clough in charge after Graham Coughlan left and Tranmere Rovers now have Keith Hill in the dug-out after Mike Jackson departed. More recently in December Bradford City have parted company with Stuart McCall, Barrow with David Dunn (replaced by Michael Jolley) and Ian Holloway has left Grimsby Town

Paul Mullin, 26, is the current top scorer with 17 goals for Cambridge United - He joined from Tranmere Rovers earlier in the season. Danny Johnson (Leyton Orient) and Max Watters (Crawley Town) are in joint second place on 13 goals. Watters, 21, is having his best season in league football so far - He played in non-league with Thurrock, Barking and Ashford United before a move to Doncaster Rovers in 2018 - He only made five appearances for Rovers and spent time on loan with Grantham Town, Gainsborough Trinity, Mickleover Sports and Maidstone United before his move to The Red Devils in October.

Form over the last ten games played shows Port Vale (17th in the table) are the worst team with just 5 points won from a possible 30 - They have only one win which came against Bolton Wanderers which they won 6-3.

Carlisle United (3rd) and Forest Green Rovers (2nd) have the best form in the last ten games played with 19 points from a possible 30.

The below chart shows the win percentages of the current bottom six teams - It shows Stevenage, who escaped relegation at Macclesfield Town's expense last season, will have to improve over the second half of the season or they could be playing back in non-league football for the 2021/22 season. Their two wins so far this season have come at home against Oldham Athletic and Port Vale. Their next two games come at The Lamex Stadium against Cambridge United on Tuesday and a huge game against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Their relegation rivals Southend United only won one of their first fifteen games but have since won three of their last four games against Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Colchester United.

The bookmakers still make the Essex side favourites to go down as follows (odds available at skybet.com) -
