ROMFORD'S OPENING DAY SQUAD

Many football fans took interest in Romford FC's squad last season following the take over of the club in November 2019. The club used a large number of players in their games played. Here's how they lined up for their 0-0 Pitching In Isthmian Divison One North draw at Canvey Island on Saturday. 

Matthew Cafer (Goalkeeper) 
Joined the club last season after a spell playing in Gibraltar with 'Manchester 62', 'Gibraltar Phoenix' and 'Bruno's Magpies'. Came through the youth ranks at Weymouth (where he was born) and Yeovil Town where he spent two years as a professional between 2011 to 2013 when they were a League One club. He never made a first team appearance for The Glovers.  He is a full International with two caps for Gibraltar. 

Gabriel Adelowo
Another player to join last season who continues in the first team this season. Has also played for Canvey Island, Cheshunt and Thamesmead Town. 

Adrian Cascaval 
Very experienced defender who has joined this season from Vanarama South side Chelmsford City. He is a full Moldovan International with 9 caps between 2011 to 2017. Has played football in Moldova, Uzbekistan, Russia, Malta and the Faroe Islands.

Malaki Toussaint 
The only player who stayed on from the old squad following the take over last season. He was a regular in the team from the start of the season. A midfielder who has also played for Great Wakering Rovers, Redbridge and Woodford Town. 

David Winfield 
A new signing for the 2020/21 season. The 32 year old has a wealth of experience joining from National League side Bromley. He has played in the football league for Aldershot Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Shrewsbury Town, York City and AFC Wimbledon. 

Sean Bonnett-Johnson
Moved from Potters Bar Town last summer to join Braintree Town in the Vanarama South division before dropping back down to East Thurrock United. A former Billericay Town player who also counts Dundee FC and Hendon as former clubs. He was with the Scottish club for a short spell in 2014. 

Matthew Parsons
A new signing for the 2020/21 season. The 28 year old came through the ranks at Crystal Palace and made six appearances for The Eagles between 2011 to 2014. He has also played for Barnet and Wycombe Wanderers on loan before moving to Plymouth Argyle. He then dropped into the non-league game with Boreham Wood in 2014. He has since played for many clubs representing Glebe, Faversham Town and Cornthian Casuals last seasons. 

Archie Tamplin
Young forward who followed his father from Billericay Town. He has also played for Dagenham and Redbridge youth teams. 

Lee Newton 
Striker who previously played for Redbridge. 

Anointed Chukwu 
Centre forward who was with the Salford City Academy last season. He played for Crystal Palace at under 16 level and was scouted by several Premier Division clubs before moving North to Salford. During a loan spell with Northern Premier League North West side Widnes he scored seven goals in fifteen appearances and also got three in seven on loan to Ramsbottom United who play in the same division. It was announced Chukwu had signed with Premier Division side East Thurrock United at the begining of September but he's now at Romford.  

Bagasan Graham 
Joins Boro from National League side Dagenham and Redbridge. The 27 year old midfielder was born in Newham and came through the ranks at QPR before moving to Cheltenham Town in 2011 where he made a handful of appearances. He then went on to play for Chelmsford City, Dulwich Hamlet and Ebbsfleet United before moving to The Daggers for the 19/20 season. 

Youssef Bamba
Spent last season with Premier Division Kingstonian and South Central side Westfield FC. Also counts AFC Wimbledon, Farnborough, Carshalton Athletic, Merstham and Hastings United as former clubs. 

Joshua Exley Banks 
Youngster who played for the academy teams at Dagenham & Redbridge joining Romford last seaason. 

Emmanuel Udoji 
31 year old defender who has played for Eastbourne Borough, St Albans City and Bromley. Was with Harlow Town and Coggeshall Town last season. 

Jesse Olukolu 
Another promising young locally based player who made a few appearances at the back end of last season. 

Remi Nelson
Had a previous spell with Romford and has played for several local clubs including Basildon United, Walthamstow and Redbridge.

Romford's next scheduled game is on Saturday at home to Aveley. They are ground sharing at Barking for the 2020/21 season.
