UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND
FK Riteriai (Lithuania) v Derry City (Ireland)
A huge game takes place on Tuesday evening at 7pm UK time as PAOK (2nd in the Greek Super League 19/20) take on Besiktas (3rd in the Turkish Super Lig 19/20). The Turkish side reached the round of 16 in 17/18 where they were roundly beaten by Bayern Munich 8-1 on aggregate. PAOK have never reached the group stages of the Champions League. They were knocked out at the Third Qualifying Round stage last season by Ajax 5-4 on aggregate.
League of Ireland side Derry City whose home ground is actually just across the border in Northern Ireland travel to Lithuania to play FK Riteriai. The Red and White Army have a number of English players in their squad including former Harrow Borough striker Ibrahim Meite who joined the club in July from Bulgarian side Pirin Blagoevgrad. He moved from Earlsmead to Cardiff City in 2017 but only ever made one appearance for The Bluebirds. He had also played for Crawley Town and Woking.
Another former Isthmian League forward is Walter Figueria who has played for Wingate and Finchley, Dulwich Hamlet, Merstham and Bognor Regis Town as well as Chessington & Hook United and Hayes and Yeading.
James Akintunde is also in their squad who came through the academy ranks at Cambridge United but spent time on loan at AFC Sudbury in 2014 and Needham Market in 2016. He joined Derry after a two season spell with Maidenhead United.
Left-Back Cameron McJannet, 21, also recently joined the club after spending time with Stoke City and Luton Town.
Fans of Scottish side St Johnstone and Welsh side Cefn Druids will remember the Lithuanian side from Europa League games in 2017 and 2018.
