THE YAK GOES TO THE SHAK - BELARUSIAN FOOTBALL WEEKEND FIXTURES

It's been a very busy day of transfer activity and news in Belarusian football.

Firstly the scheduled game between Dynamo Brest and Slutsk this weekend has been postponed due to a number of players and staff from Dynamo suffering from Covid-19 symptoms.  I wish them all the best and we all look forward to seeing Dynamo back in action sometime soon when they are all recovered.

The rights and wrongs of football continuing in Belarus following this news is clearly a debate that quite rightly must be had but for now the game continues.

The big transfer news of the day is Jasurbek Yakshivoev moving from Energetyk-BGU to Shakhtyor Soligorsk. The 23 year old Uzbekistan International joined The Students on loan from Uzbek Super League side Pakhtakor Tashkent for the 2020 season and has scored nine goals (three assists) in the thirteen games he has played so far. He is the Premier Division top scorer so far and now joins Shakhtyor on loan for the rest of the season.

There are now unconfirmed rumours of Shakhtyor's Belarusian International striker Vitaly Lisakovich who has made sixteen apperances and scored 9 goals so far moving to a club in the Russian Premier League - I must stress this has not been confirmed as yet so is as I say a rumour.

Torepdo Belaz-Zhodino have increased their Brazlian contingent from a double to a trio with the signing of 22 year old attacker Matheus Celestino Moresche Rodrigues (known as Moresche) who counts Vasco Da Gama and Avai as former clubs as well as playing for Botafogo and Corinthians as a youth player.

Winger Jean Morel Poe who was one of the stand out players for Smolevichi-STI this season has now swapped a relegation battle for the title race with Neman Grodno. The 23 year old Ivorian was previously with Torpedo Zhodino.

Defensive Midfielder Mikhail Bashilov has moved from Belshina to Energetyk. The 27 year old counts Gorodeya as a former club.

Centre-Forward Vladimir Khvashchinsky, 30, has moved from Shakhtyor to FC Minsk on loan for the rest of the season.
