They are those who finished first, second, third and fourth in step five division without being promoted to step four. There are still a twenty-six club exempt to the Second Round stage who got to the Fourth Round Proper last season and were not promoted to step four - they are listed below the fixtures.

The Two Blues with their rich cup competition history have never had much luck in the FA Vase with their best performance in 2014/15 when they lost to 1874 Northwich in the Second Round Proper. They finished in third place of the EBAC Northern League Division One last season and are currently placed eleventh place.

Padiham of the North West Counties League Premier Division beat EBAC Northern League Division Two side Bedlington Terriers 5-0 at home in the last round so it could be a difficult tie for the visitors from County Durham.

Padiham's form in the league hasn't been great - they have only won one game in their eight played so far.

Leicester Road are currently in tenth place of the Midland Football League Division One (Step Six) with their visitor's Walsall Wood top of the Premier Division (Step Five) so it'll be a really tough tie for them.

This first round tie equals Leicester Road's best performance in the Vase - they lost 4-5 to Uttoxeter Town in 2016/17.

The Prims missed out on the Midland League title last season by goal difference to Ilkeston Town so will be looking to go one better this season. The roles were reversed in 2017/18 as Walsall Wood won Division One by 15 points to Ilkeston Town scoring an incredible 173 goals in 42 games.
