Three new clubs have joined the league in Carlisle City (transferred from the North West Counties League Division One (North) where they finished in sixth position last season), Sunderland West End (promoted from the Wearside League where they finished 2nd last season) and Newcastle University (promoted from the Northern Football Alliance where they finished in 2nd place last season). Last season's runaway Champion's Dunston UTS have moved up to Step Four football.
