THE POPPIES ON THE RISE BACK UP THE PYRAMID

Kettering Town last played at step two of the non-league ladder back in 2012 when they were relegated finishing bottom of the table and then suffered a further relegation in 2013 when they finished bottom of the Southern League Premier Division table.

The club had lost their historic Rockingham Road ground in 2011 and then went on to suffer from financial problems going into adminstration during the 11/12 Conference North season. A brief stay at Nene Park (the former home of Rushden and Diamonds) was followed by a move to ground share with Corby Town and then in 2013 they moved to share at Burton Park Wanderers Latimer Park ground which is just under five miles from their spiritual home.

It's looking good for Marcus Law's team this season as they are eight points clear of Stourbridge with two games in hand. If they win tonight's home game against seventh placed Coalville Town they will go eleven points clear with nine games left to play.
