BIG SEASON AHEAD FOR THE CITIZENS

Welwyn Garden City who finished sixth in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division last season have been busy recruiting for the 2017/18 campaign making a number of signings in the playing and coaching department.

Manager Adam Fished has brought in two new Assistants in Danny Dolan and Steve Rolfe. Dolan, a UEFA B coach is head of Academy recruitment at Premier League Watford and represented Huntingdon Town and Royston Town in his playing career. He has also coached at MK Dons and Stevenage FC. Rolfe has coached and managed at Cheshunt, Cockfosters and Colney Heath. 

The Citizens have also landed last season's SSML Premier Division top scorer in Jon Clements from London Colney - He scored an amazing 41 goals in 54 games.

A trio of players have also moved to Herns Lane from last season's third placed side Cockfosters. Midfielder Emmanuel Melford-Rowe (who also played 14 times for The Citizens last season) and Carl Mensah a central defender who has also played for Boreham Wood have joined along with midfielder George Ironton who has also played for Ware, Hitchin Town, Arlesey Town and Barton Rovers in his career. 

Full-Back Dave Coran has also joined from Southern League Division One (Central) side Barton Rovers.
