The race for the title took another twist yesterday evening as The Hawks made the journey to Champion Hill to face Dulwich Hamlet. The home side recorded their second win of a busy week with a comfortable 3-0 victory courtesy of goals from Dipo Akinyemi, Dumebi Dumaka and Nyren Clunis.
RYMAN PREMIER LEAGUE
CURRENT TABLE - TOP TWO ONLY
POS | TEAM | P | GD | PTS | POSS | FORM |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | BOGNOR REGIS TOWN | 39 | +36 | 79 | 100 | WDWDWW |
2 | HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE | 39 | +38 | 77 | 98 | DWWLWL |
The bookmakers now make Bognor 8/11 favourites with Havant rated at 11/10 - all other teams are at 50/1 or more.
The race could take another twist this weekend as Bognor Regis Town host form side Canvey Island who have won their last five games in a row and Havant travel to Needham Market.
Should just two points separate the two rivals when they meet on Easter Bank Holiday Monday it could be one of the biggest games the Ryman League has seen in many years. The Hawk's West Leigh Park currently holds 5,250 people so it may well be close to or a possible sell out.
