Not since their appearance in 1986 FA Vase final have Southall had a more important game than Saturday's Quarter Final against Cleethorpes Town. A huge crowd is expected at Reynolds Field. It's definitely a game not to be missed. If you are local why not pop along to give the Southall team some support on The Road to Wembley - you'll receive a very nice welcome.
It's a tough game in prospect with Cleethorpes Town playing one level above Southall at step five. They are members of the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division where they are currently top losing just two league games of twenty eight and scoring 95 league goals in the process. To get to this stage they have beaten AFC Emley, Bootle, Billingham Town and Atherton Collieries.
Southall started back in the First Qualifying Round drawing 2-2 at Bedfordshire County League Cranfield United before a w/o was called in the replay as Cranfield couldn't raise a side. They then went on to beat step five sides London Tigers, Sporting Bengal United, Camberley Town, Knaphill and Bradford Town all away from home before winning 4-2 at home versus Exmouth Town in the last round.
