THE COLD END - TEAM OF THE WEEK - BOVINGDON FC

There are many performances I could mention this weekend in the team of the week category including SSMFL D1 Southall who went to Bradford Town (a team who play one step above them in the Toolstation Western League Premier) and won 2-4 after extra time. Bradford had made it 2-1 on 90 minutes with Southall unbelievably making it 2-2 shortly after to send the tie into extra time. A truly remarkable result and memorable day for all involved - but the Middlesex side did get the away for their win at Knaphill in the last round.

In the Ryman Premier Division Canvey Island (in the bottom four and fighting to stay up) recorded a very welcome 1-0 home victory over play off chasing Dulwich Hamlet thanks to Steve Sheehan's 87th minute goal - it was only Hamlet's second league away defeat of the season.

The award goes to Hertfordshire Senior County League side Bovingdon who travelled to table topping and 100% winning record in 15 games London Lions. Bovingdon recorded an unexpected 2-5 win to put an end to the Lion's perfect record. It looks even better when you see they visited Rowley Lane on Saturday 10th December and lost 8-1 in the Aubery Cup.

Well done to everyone at Bovingdon!
