THE COLD END TEAM OF THE WEEK - ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS

We travel to Northamptonshire for The Cold End's team of the week award this weekend as it is awarded to Chromasport United Counties Premier Division side Rothwell Corinthians who are currently in eleventh place of their table - The Corinthians travelled to table topper's Peterborough Sports yesterday who haven't lost at home in a league fixture for thirty-six games.

In their last six league games (which they had all won) The Turbines had scored twenty-four times - their home league record for this season read played ten won 10 goals for 44 and against 8 prior to the game and last season they had won all eighteen league games at home scoring 74 and letting in just 8 goals. The last time they had dropped points at home was back on Saturday 24th January 2015 when they drew 1-1 with Wellingborough Whitworth. If Rothwell's task wasn't hard enough it looked much tougher when you see that in their previous game they well beaten 1-5 at home to Peterborough's title rival's Eynesbury Rovers last weekend.

ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS DEFENDED WELL AND FOR MOST OF THE GAME YESTERDAY
The Corinthians battled, competed and defended well (it wasn't pretty at times but it was effective) and achieved a brilliant 0-0 draw to take a well deserved point back to Sergeants Lawn. The game was only the second time the free scoring Sports have failed to score all season.

Congratulations to Manager Shaun Sparrow and his squad on winning a point when the odds were stacked against them.

Peterborough Sports have a chance to get back to winning ways on Thursday evening when they welcome Yaxley for another league fixture. The Corinthians are next in action on Friday evening when they travel to Newport Pagnell Town.
