There is a great game in prospect at The Mill Field on Friday evening as an all Ryman Division One (South) and local derby takes place between Aveley and AFC Hornchurch. The winners of each tie receive £3,000 each from the Football Association's prize fund.
FA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND FIXTURES
FRIDAY 19th AUGUST
Aveley v AFC Hornchurch
SATURDAY 20th AUGUST
Guernsey v Thamesmead Town -1pm
This game will go down in history as the most Southerly game ever played so far in the competition as an FA Cup tie is played on the Island for the first time ever. They have played two "home" games in the competition before which were played at Lancing FC (2-3 defeat to Dover Athletic) and Lewes FC (1-2 defeat to Phoenix Sports). A big crowd is expected at The Green Lion's Footes Lane Ground - Will The Mead be the party poopers?

The home side were runner's up in the Northern League Division One last season and won 3-1 against the much fancied South Shields in the Extra Preliminary Round.
