It's all very early days in the Essex Senior League as some clubs have played four games and some have only played once. FC Romania and Sporting Bengal United haven't even played a game yet. Takeley lead the way in the table with three wins and one draw in their four games played.
There are some good games coming up this midweek as Takeley face FC Romania and Waltham Forest welcome Eton Manor on Wednesday evening.
Tonight comes the battle of the early basement dwellers as Haringey & Waltham Developement play a 'home' game versus Wadham Lodge. The match is to be played at Wadham Lodge.
The new HAWD team have been brought together with not much pre-season preparation which maybe one of the reasons they are stuggling at present. They have lost 6-2, 5-0 and 4-0 so far. Wadham Lodge (under the new management of Chris Day) have lost 0-3, 2-3 and 0-1 so far. What is certain tonight is that one (or both) of the sides will pick up their first point or points of the season. The Haringey and Waltham Development team must be the most renamed team ever since they were formed as Mauritius Sports in 2000. They have had the following names and changes-

Also tonight sees the second Old Spotted Dog Derby of the season as London Bari play Clapton. The tennants played their landlords in the FA Cup on Saturday 6th August in front of 296 people with The Ton's winning 1-2.
