SOME NEWS FROM SATURDAY'S PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY GAMES

The first Walter Tull Cup was played between Clapton, AC London and Hackney Wick at The Old Spotted Dog Stadium. AC London, who will play in the Combined Counties League Division One this season, recorded a 2-0 win over Middlesex County League side Hackney Wick in the first game before they lost 1-0 to Clapton with the final game ended 1-1 between The Ton's and Wick.

Another Essex Senior League side Southend Manor had a very good afternoon winning 10-1 versus Essex and Suffok Border League side AFC Barnston.

League Two side Stevenage FC included ex Billericay Town front-man Rowan Liburd in their starting XI against Vanarama South side St Albans City. He has moved to Broadhall Way from Reading over the summer months. Boro recorded a 2-3 win with Dip Akinyemi (who had a very successful loan spell at Dulwich Hamlet) getting some game time too. Andrew Fox (signed from Peterborough United over the summer) and Jake Hyde (2), who has signed from York City, got the goals for Boro. St Albans City scorers were Louie Theophanous and Josh Hall got City's goals.

Spartan South Midlands League side Cockfosters played out an eventful 4-4 draw with Hellenic League side Wokingham and Emmbrook. Fosters were 1-4 up at half time via goals from Connor Fallon, Emmanual Melford-Rowe and Ioannis Varouxakis (2) who played for Woodford Town in Division One of the SSMFL and Weston-Super-Mare in the Vanarama South division last season.

League Two side Barnet were busy sending a young side to play Ryman Division One (North) side Ware where they recorded a 0-4 victory through goals from Nwogu, Tomlinson, J.Taylor and Mason-Clarke. Just down the A10 a stronger Bee's side won 1-5 at Cheshunt via goals from John Akinde, OG, Michael Gash, Wesley Fonguck and Fumnaya Shomotun. The Ambers goal was scored by Adam Bolle. 

Ryman Premier Division Lowestoft Town followed up their 2-1 win versus Waveney on Tuesday evening with a 0-1 away win at Kirkly & Pakefield. The Trawlerboys are expecting a sell-out crowd at Crown Meadow on Tuesday evening when the Norwich City first team visit for club legend Micky Chapman's testimonial.
