AN INTRODUCTION TO KENSINGTON BOROUGH - THE GREEN ARMY!!!
AFC Hillgate who joined the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two from the Middlesex County League (MCL) last season will now be called Kensington Borough. They finished in fifth in Division Two last season and will compete in Division One for the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign ground sharing at Spartley's Meadow the home of Division Two side Amersham Town. Although playing a round trip of around 50 miles away from the area they represent they can lay a claim to be the most senior non-league club in the centre of the Capital.
It's been a rapid rise up the pyramid for The Green Army whom were only formed back in 2012 joining the MCL and playing at The Linford Christie Stadium in White City. They previously ground shared at London Tiger's home Avenue Park.
They enter the FA Vase for the first time in their short history this season with a home tie against United Counties League side Thrapston Town awating them.
