GROUND IMPROVEMENTS AT THEOBALDS LANE




Ryman Division One (North) Cheshunt Football Club have started their ground improvements at Theobalds Lane which has been boosted by the news the club are to receive a £150,000 grant from the Premier League via the Football Stadia Improvement Fund. The funding will be used towards the installation of a new floodlight system, a 170 seat covered grandstand, pitch perimeter barrier, fencing, team dug outs, re-surfacing of spectator areas, turnstiles and a full sized floodlit artificial training pitch.

The future looks good for the Hertfordshire club with the announcement of a football and education scholarship in partnership with League Two side Stevenage FC.

The two year scholarship will see participants study for a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport - the equivalent of 3 A-Levels – at Cheshunt’s Theobolds Lane stadium whilst also gaining qualifications to work in the sports industry, including FA coaching badges. They will also train for up to eight hours a week with UEFA 'B' qualified Stevenage FC Academy coaches and play in the British Colleges League.
