RYMAN DIVISION ONE (NORTH)- THE RACE FOR THE TITLE AND PLAY OFFS

Needham Market's 1-0 defeat at Heybridge Swifts on Saturday afternoon has brought the championship race closer with Harlow Town now only two points below the Suffolk side following their 1-2 win at Chatham Town.

In the race for the play-offs it's now only from eighth placed Brightlingsea Regent upwards who can qualify for the play-offs. Ninth placed Ware and tenth placed Aveley can now only achieve a points total of 75 with fifth placed Wroxham on 76 points. Regent won 1-2 at Barkingside last night.

Ryman Division One (North)

7 THURROCK 41 +38 7287
8 BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT 41 +22 70 85

Looking at the title run in - Could Harlow Town move in the top spot this weekend with a home win over second bottom Cray Wanderers? Needham have the harder game on paper as they travel to 5th placed Wroxham who need a victory or a draw to stay in the play-off zone. Saying this though Cray have hit some good form of late winning their last three games agianst Redbridge, Burnham Ramblers and Romford - These are teams placed in 19th, 21st and 24th places so Harlow will be much stronger. On Easter Monday The Hawks go to Ware who will relish putting one over on their local rivals. Needham Market entertain another teams chasing a play-off place in Dereham Town.

Every time I write about Division One (North) I always say it looks as though it could go down to the big match between the two title chasing teams on Saturday 18th April or even onto the last game of the season.
