BRIMSDOWN v ASTON CLINTON PREVIEW

Where to start this week?

Our victory over The 61 FC (Luton) at the weekend gave us a much needed gap from them, given their games in hand.

Although, Totternhoe losing at home to Grendon Rangers was a welcome surprise. Apart from that, the other games affecting us went pretty much to form, with New Bradwell thumping this week's opponents, Aston Clinton, 5-2 at home and Kent Athletic winning 2-4 away at strugglers, Willen. There is still much to do, as we lie four points behind Kent Athletic and vulnerable to the games in hand for New Bradwell St Peter.

This weekend we welcome ASTON CLINTON to The Goldsdown. Aston Clinton visit on a five game streak without a win - leaking goals along the way. However, when we lost to them in October, they had lost their opening 3 games, conceding 12 with only 3 in reply, yet they still found 3 goals to send us home disappointed, so we will do well not to underestimate them on Saturday. We lost this fixture last season 1-3, and the reverse fixture was awarded to Aston after the League deemed four days to be too late after an FA suspension was lifted.

This season at London Road, Aston came out the 3-2 victors on a day that is best forgotten for us, but on the bright side, we have been unbeaten since then, back in October last year.

The Limers will be looking to extend the 13 game unbeaten run with 10 wins and 58 goals scored with only 18 conceded. So let's hope it's not unlucky-13, but third time lucky, as we have failed to get anything from Aston Clinton in our two previous attempts. Form suggests a Brimsdown win, so let's see if our boys can do it and take us that one step nearer our targets. Elsewhere, Kent Athletic are away to the enigmatic Wolverton. One would expect Kent to extend their five game winning streak, but you never know with Wolverton - literally.

New Bradwell SP have a difficult away tie vs the unbeaten league leaders, Hale Leys Utd. We need Hale Leys to do us the favour and take the points from New Bradwell, as I am sure they have not given up on leap-frogging us for third, or even second. A win this week would set us up for the following week, when our four nearest rivals all play against each other. Could be decisive for us?

THE MATCH KICKS OFF AT 2pm SO IF YOU'RE A LOCAL ENFIELD TOWN FAN YOU COULD CATCH THE FIRST HALF BEFORE MAKING YOUR WAY TO DONKEY LANE FOR THE 3pm KICK OFF v BILLERICAY TOWN.

Next weekend they travel to play Clean Slate who ground share with Ampthill Town and then the next weekend are also on the road to Tring Corinthians. As you can see from the below table and possible points (PP) totals of each team it's going to be an exciting end to the season for Brimsdown. Hale Leys United have to be considered strong favourites having won 19 of their 20 league games so far. The only points they have dropped came against Brimsdown on the 17th January.
