HITCHIN AND CHIPPENHAM SHARE A POINT

Long trip - Chippenham Fans on the terrace at Top Field.
On a chilly night at Top Field the loyal fans who made the 240 mile round trip from Chippenham went home happy with a well deserved point in a game which never really got going for both sides. The Bluebirds as they are known have a decent away record now with just two defeats, six draws and three wins in eleven games. Chippenham scored a hotly disputed goal in the first half that many of the Hitchin fans present in the crowd of 201 claimed was offside in the build up. They replay of the goal scored by Chippenham's tall centre forward target man Alan Griffin shows it was tight but is inconclusive unfortunately.

Hitchin equalised in the second half with a decent strike from Jonny McNamara and were marginally the better side for the rest of the game but all in all the score of 1-1 was about right.
