HENDON THROUGH TO LEAGUE CUP THIRD ROUND

Match played on Tuesday 9th December 2014

97 fans braved the elements on a rainy wet evening to watch the North London derby between Enfield Town and Hendon last Tuesday. It was a much changed Town side from Saturday's 2-1 league defeat at VCD Athletic that took to the field with only Nathan McDonald, Phil Kane, Taylor Hastings and Tyler Campbell remaining in the starting XI. Hendon manager Gary McCann made only four changes to his starting XI with David Diedhiou, Charlie Goode, Sam Murphy and Aaron Morgan all coming in from their previous game at Bognor Regis Town.

Town started the game brightly with Ade Cole's shot well saved by Hendon keeper Ben McNamara the best chance of the first half but it was The Greens who gradually became the better side in a scrappy first half of few chances.

Hendon made it 0-1 just after the break via a nice finish from Kezie Ibe who broke free following a stray pass from Town in the midfield. The introduction of Corey Whitely for Town improved the home side's attacking options with his shot from the edge of the box expertly saved by McNamara which kept the score at 0-1.

Hendon face Hampton and Richmond Borough at home in the next round.
