THE WINLESS LEAGUE 2014/15

The Cold End wrote about 'The Wooden Spoon' league in 2009/2010 when AFC Aldermaston, then of the Wessex League Division One (Step 6), had a record of 29 games and 29 losses and 'won' the title. They lost forty games on the trot in total which lead to numerous national newspapers reporting they were the 'worst football team in history'.I thought it would be good to do it again this season to celebrate proper football where teams don't win every week but when they do it's celebrated more than ever. AFC are now members of the Thames Valley Premier League and have won two, drawn two and lost two of their league games so far so it's much better for The Atom Men now.

Here are the twenty-six teams currently in the running from Step 1 to Step 6 -

Portishead Town have played the most games losing all eight they have played so far letting in 27 goals in the process. They travel to Calne Town next Tuesday 16th September where they will be hoping it's ninth time lucky for them!
