A PERFECT TEN FOR ENFIELD TOWN u21s

It was a long ninety minutes for the Leiston keeper.. in the second half he made a couple of decent saves to keep the score down.
It's just one more win required for Enfield Town's u21 side to win the title in their Ryman u21 North Division campaign.

Wednesday evening saw Leiston's u21 side make the long journey down from Suffolk. Leiston had lost 7-0 at Wingate and Finchley last Wednesday and Town had won their last two games 5-0 and 9-0 so it was no surprise to see Town race into a 3-0 lead inside the first ten minutes with Jermaine Osei and Corey Whitely linking up very impressively up front. It was a fantastic night for Osei who scored five of the ten goals Town scored. The half time score was an incredible 8-0 but it was an improved defensive performance for the away side in the second half as only two more goals were scored although Town did hit the woodwork twice.

As stated Town now only need one more victory in their final game of the season on Monday evening at Donkey Lane when VCD Athletic visit. A win would see them swap places with current table topper's Grays Athletic who have played all of their games. A draw would not be enough as they are one point below Grays who have a better goal difference of +55 (to Town's +53). Gray's goals for column received a massive boost after their huge 17-1 victory against Waltham Forest on Saturday. The game on Bank Holiday Monday kicks off at 7.45pm. Town's u21 side have had an amazing season and the future for football in Enfield looks very promising. It was a good to see George Borg casting an eye over proceedings last night.
