RYMAN PREMIER - WEEKEND PREVIEW

Enfield Town, without a win in ten Ryman Premier Division games, go searching for three points at Victory Road on Saturday. Both sides promoted from Division One (North) in the 2011/12 season as Champions and play-off winners are struggling towards the foot of the table for the 2013/14 campaign. A look at their respective positions shows how important the result of this game will be -

A win for Leiston would see them move seven points ahead of Enfield Town whereas an away win would put Town two points behind with one game in hand.

Leiston parted company with their second manager this season on Tuesday night amazingly after the 1-4 Ryman League Cup victory at local rival's Lowestoft Town. The departing Steve Pitt had only been with Leiston for 38 days having taken over from ex Needham Market manager Danny Laws.

The club's record in the league during his stay reads one win, two draws and two defeats. The 2-2 draw away at Maidstone United stands out for me as not many teams are getting points at The Gallagher Stadium this season. It looks even better when you see The Stones got their equaliser in injury time at the end of the game. First Team Coach Steve Ball will be in charge for the game on Saturday with the temporary management team of Bryan and Peter Hammatt in charge of Enfield Town.

The scorers for Leiston on Tuesday night were David Head, Rhys Henry, Leon Ottley-Gooch and Craig Parker.

An Enfield Town side lost on Tuesday night in the Ryman League Cup to Harlow Town. The Hawks recorded a 1-2 victory at Donkey Lane. Defender Matt Turpin made his debut for the club in this game along with goalkeeper Sunny Hayre who has been playing with the under 21 side this season.

The matches involving teams are the bottom of the table are Cray Wanderers v Billericay Town, Thamesmead (who are unbeaten in three games) travelling to Lewes and Met Police welcoming Lowestoft Town to Imber Court. Carshalton Athletic are not in action as their original opponents Hendon are in FA Trophy action. The Wands will be in a confident mood following their midweek 5-1 Ryman Cup victory against a much changed Dulwich Hamlet side.

The match of the day comes at Champion Hill were Dulwich (5th) play Wealdstone (3rd). A difficult match to predict. Hamlet have five wins in six and Wealdstone have four in six. Hamlet have been attracting some good crowds of late and the figure at this game should easily eclipse the high of 712 they recorded against Lewes on the 5th October.

The Cold End says good luck to all the Ryman teams still left in FA Trophy action at the weekend.
Bury Town and East Thurrock United both have tough looking games against strong Skrill South sides. Eastleigh (2nd) place go to Bury Town and Dover Athletic (12th) go to East Thurrock United. Dover have four wins in six league games and have only let in two goals in the process.

Hendon play Division One (South) side Whitstable Town on Sunday afternoon at Earlsmead in an all Ryman Leauge clash.
