WAS NON-LEAGUE DAY A SUCCESS FOR THE RYMAN PREMIER?

Were the crowds up or down on Non-League Day for the clubs in the Ryman Premier? The below will tell us...

CLUBLAST SAT CROWD NON-LEAGUE DAY +/-
AFC HORNCHURCH 210 328 118
BILLERICAY TOWN 261 409 148
BURY TOWN 356 737 381
CANVEY ISLAND 368 461 93
CRAY WANDERERS 147 201 54
HAMPTON & RICHMOND 345 769 424
HARROW BOROUGH 452* 313 -139
KINGSTONIAN 261 394 133
LEWES 532 798 266
LOWESTOFT TOWN 532 585 53
MARGATE 303 491 188
THAMESMEAD TOWN 94* 64 -30
TOTAL - - 1,689

A total of 1,689 more people attended with only Harrow Borough and Thamesmead Town posting lower crowds than there last Saturday home games. In Harrow's case they dropped 139 as their last game was the local derby versus Wealdstone who brought a large following which distorts the figures somewhat. If you take the 211 they got versus Billericay on the opening Saturday of the season they gained 102 people.

Thamesmead's 94 gate was against Margate so the 64 they posted versus Wingate and Finchley was always to be expected as the two clubs are unfortunately ones who don't seem to attract many spectators. The usual small band of loyal Wingate fans were present as you can see from the picture.

To get over 1,500 more people through Ryman League turnstiles is brilliant and shows how much of a success the Non-League Day is for clubs outside of the football league. Let's hope some of them return later on in the season.
