CITY V TOWN - FA CUP GLORY ON OFFER AT CLARENCE PARK

Glory awaits in the world's most famous knock competition as Enfield Town make the short journey to Clarence Park on Saturday to play St Albans City in the First Qualifying Round of The FA Cup with Budweiser. The Saints play in the Calor League Southern Premier Division which is the same level as Town's Ryman Premier Division so it's a really tough draw for Steve Newing's side.
The fine margin of winning and losing in The FA Cup.
Mark Kirby's effort hits the woodwork at Stotfold in 2011 when Town suffered a shock defeat.

Looking at the above and the fact City have won all three of their home league games so far (Hungerford Town 2-0, Banbury United 3-2 and Corby Town 1-0) with Town only gaining one point from the fifteen available on their travels it will be the home side who are considered favourites BUT it is the FA Cup where form counts for nothing!

The Saints have an impressive squad for this campaign which includes 43 year old Paul Bastock in goal who seems to have played football for ever. He re-joined the club in the summer and showed that age is just a number as he was named the club's player of the month for August after a number of fine performances. Striker John Frendo (who scored 44 goals in 48 games for Hitchin Town last season) has also joined and has hit the ground running at Clarence Park as he only scored FOUR in last weekend's victory at AFC Totten. Lee Chappell and Chris O'Leary have also joined (from Wealdstone) over the summer. They have joint managers in James Gray and Graham Golds.

Admission for the game on Saturday is £12 for Adults, £8 for concessions (over 65, student, unemployed and 16-21yrs) with under 16 either £3 or one goes free with every paying adult. A Family Ticket (2 Adults plus 2 Children) is £18.
