Apologies for the delay but here is Saturday's round up of the pre-season friendlies played by the Ryman Division One (North) sides.
Firstly prior to Saturday afternoon, Needham Market travelled to Thetford Town on Thursday night and lost by a single goal.
On Saturday Cheshunt played St Margaretsbury on one of the back pitches at Theobalds Lane going in at the break 1-0 up. St Mags played some better football in the second half but it was The Ambers who scored in injury time to make the result 2-0.
Great Wakering Rovers were comfortably beaten by Ryman Premier Division Billericay Town with the final score being 1-4. The blues fielded different XI's in both periods with Rovers drawing level at 1-1 early in the second half only for Town to run in three more goals.
The Scholars of Potters Bar Town travelled to Coles Park to play Haringey Borough where the final score was 1-1.
Canvey Island won in some style against Heybridge Swifts with a hat-trick from Jason Hallett and one goal from Joe Green sealing a 0-4 victory. Hallett has been in his second spell with the Islander's since September 2009 and has also played for Waltham Abbey and Chelmsford City. He played for Canvey in the Conference.
Another Ryman Premier side won at a Ryman North side when AFC Hornchurch won 0-2 at Maldon and Tiptree.
Needham Market had their third game of the week when travelling to Eastern Counties League runners-up Dereham Town. The Marketmen came away with a 1-2 win thanks to goals from Luke Wade and Duane Wright. Wright signed for Danny Law's side in the summer after captaining Hadleigh United last season.
Leiston travelled to Suffolk and Ispwich league side Ipswich Athletic and won 0-2 thanks to a brace from midfielder Leon Otley-Gooch.
Tilbury welcomed reprieved Conference South side Thurrock to Chadfields and started well going 1-0 up on three minutes through a Jack West penalty kick. Thurrock made it all square only for Brad Barnes to make it 2-1 in the 32nd minute. The Dockers fielded several trialists in the 2nd half allowing Thurrock to win 2-5 in the end.
Waltham Forest played a St Neots Town XI at Wadham Lodge and won 1-0 thanks to an Aaron Hogarth goal. Ware also played at Wadham Lodge against Herts Senior County League side Goffs Oak. New manager Stuart Nethercott fielded an experimental side running the rule over a number of trialists. Davie Edmee and Herve Malimabue were the only two player's starting the game who finished last season with another inVince Rispoli coming on as a substitute. Goffs won the game 3-0 with ex Towners Jon Stevenson, Ricci Crace and David Bastian featuing for Ware.
Soham Town Rangers travelled to Fenland neighbour's Wisbech Town and came away with a 1-1 draw. Denny Escorcio was Rangers scorer for the second game in a row.
Finally, AFC Sudbury won 0-1 at Witham Town of the Essex Senior League. David Lorimer was the scorer for the Suffolk side who were missing a number of players and fielded a number of trialists.
