FA TROPHY 3rd QUALIFYING ROUND FIXTURES featuring Ryman North clubs
Boreham Wood v Romford
Cirencester Town v Grays Athletic
Harlow Town v Maidstone United
Truro City v AFC Subury

It's a busy weekend of fixtures for the Ryman North Division with the cold end sending good luck to Romford, Grays Athletic, Harlow Town and AFC Sudbury who represent our division in the FA Trophy. Romford travel to Boreham Wood who since knocking Enfield Town out of the FA Cup on the 9th October are still struggling having lost four and drawn one game in league and cup competition. The Boro had an excellent win at AFC Totton in the last round to earn their trip to the Blue Square South side and will be backed by a good travelling support from Essex. Wood have made a raft of signings of late as Ian Allinson attempts to move his side away from the relegation zone in the BSS. skybet.com rate Romford as 7/2 outsiders with the home side odds on at 8/13 with a draw at 13/5. Romford have one the best defensive records in non-league football this season so it's a good game in prospect at Meadow Park.

Grays face a trip to Zamaretto Premier Division side Cirencester Town whom are currently mid-table in their division. The odds are closer in this one with the lower ranked Grays at 11/4 and the home side favourites at 4/5 and the draw 12/5. Cirencester have won 5 out of their last six home games in league and cup with the only loss being a narrow 1-2 defeat to Cambridge City who are currently 3rd in the table. Enfield Town fan's need to watch out for this result as if it is a draw out game with Grays Athletic next midweek will be put off for the replay of this game.

Harlow Town entertain Ryman Premier Maidstone United and will be looking to put another team from the division out of the competition after knocking Carshalton Athletic out in the last round. The Hawks home league form has took a dip of late having conceded 8 goals in two games versus Cheshunt and Brentwood Town. However, last weekend they were 0-1 up against Wingate and Finchley before letting in 2 late goals to lose the game. The bookies make Harlow slight favourites at 5/4 with an away victory at 6/4 and a draw at 13/5. The cold end thinks that, of all the Ryman North sides left in the competition, Harlow may have the best chance of getting through into the next round.

AFC Sudbury make the short 700 mile round trip from Suffolk to Cornwall to face Zamaretto Premier Division Truro City. They are top of the table and have only lost one league game at home so far this season so are hot favourites to go through at 2/5 with an away win at 9/2 and a draw at 10/3. Sudbury who have been topsy turvy form wise all season have only lost twice in the league on their travels but with their hosts in fantastic form they will find it difficult to get a result on their mammoth journey.

The league fixture of the day has to be the clash between top of the table Wingate and Finchley and fifth placed East Thurrock United at Rookery Hill. The Rocks have a good home record having lost only once in six league games but saying that the only team in the current top ten they have faced at their ground is Thamesmead Town who recorded a 0-2 victory. W&F are in great form having lost to Harlow Town on the 9th October in the league and then being knocked out of the FA Trophy by Cray Wanderers they have won seven of eight league and cup games. The one they didn't win was the 3-3 draw at home to Waltham Abbey which taking nothing away from the Abbott's comeback they threw away being 3-1 up with only minutes to go. It'll be a very close encounter which I think W&F may just shade 1-2 or 1-3.

Enfield Town have a tough game against Maldon and Tiptree at Goldsdown Road. The return game which Town won 4-2 could of been much closer had M&T been more clinical with their finishing with the score at 2-3 and aside from the 6-3 defeat at the hands of AFC Sudbury M&T are in great form of late which has pushed them up to 4th in the table. Joe Sweeney has been amongst the goals of late and is now 2nd top scorer on 11 goals in the league behind Craig Parker (12) of Needham Market. A win for Enfield Town would put us on 25 points just 3 points behind our opponents with two games in hand.

Elsewhere two sides in Great Wakering Rovers and Potters Bar Town, who ran table toppers Needham on the cards here.

Over in East London there is a relegation six pointer derby game where 21st placed Leyton host 20th place Ilford. A win for the home side would get them out of the dreaded drop zone wherease a win for the Foxes would put them on 12 points which would be three away from Leyton. A game that is impossible to call result wise.

Thamesmead Town who have won their last three away games conceding just one goal travel to Waltham Abbey who are the draw-masters (eight so far) of the league this season. Abbey had a good 6-2 win against Ilford in their last home game but looking at the fact their three league wins so far have come against struggling Leyton, Redbridge and the aforementioned Ilford The Mead should get a victory in this one. Abbey have let an average of 1.38 goals a game in at home with their only clean sheet coming against Redbridge whereas the visitors have only failed to score once on the road at Heybridge.

Brentwood Town should win easily at Waltham Forest. Since their unexpected loss to Redbridge the blues have not conceded a goal on the road in three matches whereas The Stags lost 5-1 at Romford last weekend.

In the last game will their be a surprise result at Wodson Park??. Ware who drew 2-2 with Lowestoft Town at home last season and then beat them 3-2 at Crown Meadow play host to league leader's Needham Market. Ware have a good home record with only two defeats in eight games and also have five clean sheets along the way. In their last two leagues games Market have been run close by Potters Bar Town and Great Wakering Rovers but still have an almost perfect record so anything but an away win will be a shock result. The cold end has a sneaky feeling that Ware may raise their game and get at least a point against the Suffolk side.
